WEEKLY UPDATE: OUR BIG MOVE + HOME DECOR I’M LOVING!

Hey ya’ll! I wanted to share with you a weekly update of what has been going on lately and some exciting changes for us! I’m also sharing some home decor and furniture I have been loving lately!

We have officially moved into our new house a little over a week ago! We are over the moon in love with our home and have been loving making it ours. It is in Rancho Mission Viejo which is technically San Juan Capistrano in Orange County, CA. We love this area, all the nature around us, and how beautiful the rolling hills are. I absolutely love the neighborhood we moved into and there are lots of other young families with little kids as well. We totally are obsessed and can’t wait to get all settled in. We are also so much closer to the beach now and lots of cute shopping places!

I’m also so grateful for all my husband’s hard work the past 3 years we’ve been married. He has been the best husband, is always so sweet and positive, helps a lot with my blog, is always helping with Kennedy, and works SO incredibly hard for our family. Moving into our first house together this week and seeing all our hard work pay off just makes me feel so grateful and blessed.

We have been super busy all weekend between moving and unpacking, and Alex’s sister’s wedding. I think I was MIA from my phone and Instagram for over 4 days last week ha! Oops! I am the type that needs to have everything unpacked and organized for me to feel comfortable and not be stressed. I did most of my unpacking during Kennedy’s afternoon naps and while she slept at night. So it’s safe to say I have my fair amount of sleep deprivation and blisters on my fingers now. But we have made so much progress with the unpacking and a lot is done!

Now that things are starting to get organized and unpacked, I am ready to relax a bit more and start the fun part- decorating!! I have always LOVED home decor and it has always been a passion of mine. I used to collect the Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware catalogs when I was in high school and circle everything I loved. My dad has let me fully decorate his new house and he calls me his personal interior designer haha!

Now that I have our own new house, I can’t wait to get started. I can’t wait to share with ya’ll how I’ve been decorating the house and upcoming projects we have planned. Our house is new construction, but we still have some projects and updates we want to do ourselves! First, I am working on the kitchen right now and going to be adding a few more finishing touches. I’m going to be adding these gorgeous roman shades from Willow Bloom in the three kitchen windows. I’m changing out the hardware, but I’m still debating between silver or gold hardware. I am also changing out the kitchen faucet and MAYBE adding a wood hood vent. I’m adding this gorgeous 5-light pendant fixture above our kitchen table. I’m also super excited to be adding these brushed brass pendant lights above the kitchen island!! I got these french bistro bar stools I had been eyeing for a while during the Memorial Day Sale and I am so obsessed. The quality is amazing and the white and grey tie in with the floor and colors so well. I also love this beautiful runner I have in the kitchen from Orian Rugs! Throughout the house we will be adding crown molding, ship lap, batten board to some walls and wainscoting to Kennedy’s nursery. I am also going to start working on Kennedy’s nursery and give it some updates from her old nursery back in Texas. I can’t wait to share with you everything and I will be creating some fun DIY posts as well! Stay tuned!

Life has been crazy and so busy, but I couldn’t be happier! I am SO incredibly grateful for our new home and to make memories here with my little family!
