Pantry Re-Model: Before and After!

February 6, 2020

In this post I’m sharing the Before and After of our Pantry with the help of The Container Store!

One of my resolutions for the New Year was to re-do our pantry! I wanted to transform our small, and unorganized pantry, into the pantry I always dreamed of. As a family of four, we use our pantry so much throughout the day. As you can see in the below picture, it was just a very small pantry closet with minimal storage space. It made it difficult to store food and items we really needed easy access to. We thought of the idea to In the New Year, we decided it was time to expand the pantry into empty space in the garage. The space we went into was just a storage area with shelves anyways, so it was perfect! We hired a contractor to do everything and create the new pantry, which only took a few days. We then put in hardwood flooring to match the rest of the flooring we have all downstairs. After the framing, flooring, and lighting were all completed, we could get to installing the pantry system.

We were so excited to get the Elfa system installed in the new pantry to help maximize the space from The Container Store. I love the Elfa system because it can be completely customized to fit the needs of what you need for a space. We have it in Dane’s nursery closet and it is amazing!!! You can check out the post of his nursery closet and how I organized it here.

What I love about the Elfa organization system is you can choose from a variety of different colors and styles which is nice. Figuring out what we needed with the Elfa system in the new pantry was so easy. We just took a few basic measurements, and a quick inventory of the space. I then worked with a designer from The Container Store to create our design! The process is so easy, you can schedule a free in-store appointment to have a designer help create the space with you to make it perfect. I sent them over some inspiration photos, let them know what we needed in terms of shelving and drawers. They took into account our needs and they sent over a design mock-up that included everything as well as gliding racks that are designed to store cans and spices.

The Elfa system is designed to be installed by anyone, so you can do it yourself with the help of their how-to videos. While that is a good option, I highly recommend having one of their professional installers come out and install it. It took a short amount of time for him to install the entire system and saved us a Saturday afternoon!

*I have been compensated by The Container Store for this post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
