Family Gatherings Made Special with Mackenzie-Child’s

I’m so excited to share the tabelscape and Mackenzie-Childs pieces we love to use for our family gatherings and dinners!

Family gatherings are a huge part of our weekend – we prioritize our Sunday family dinners even more now than ever since the pandemic. We realize how essential it is to come together and keep making memories we will cherish for a lifetime. Since that time we’ve created a new tradition of Sunday dinners at Alex’s parents house. Kennedy and Dane are obsessed with their grandparents and have the best time when cousins join and we can all be together. The kids love to be able to play games, get out their energy and bond. It also is such a great reset and start to our week when we can have some adult time as well- since there hasn’t been much of that over the past couple years. 

I love putting together a Mackenzie-Childs tablescape because it is timeless, makes our dinners feel special and always so beautiful no matter the occasion. My in-laws live very close to us, which we cherish, and we love going over to their house for our Sunday dinners. It is such a great gathering space and my mother in law Cindy really knows how to host and throw parties! Her love for throwing amazing parties is what in part has given me the confidence to throw parties as well and I LOVE it!! We both love cooking and baking as well. On Sundays we normally make our favorite family recipes.

I’ve always loved Mackenzie-Childs and their beautiful dishware pieces! I had the experience of visiting the Mackenzie-Childs farm overlooking Cayuga Lake where they make all their beautiful homemade pieces by hand. I know when I get something from Mackenzie-Childs it will last us a lifetime and be of the highest quality. I love making parties and dinners delicious but also an inviting experience. Everything in the Mackenzie-Childs collection has so many classic pieces you’ll want to keep collecting and adding on forever. For this dinner we used Mackenzie-Childs new SoHo collection which includes new designs of serving platters, plates, bowls, mugs, chargers and vases to create a cohesive look to your hosting event! The classic colors in the SoHo collection blend well with any decor you have in your home and are versatile for any season and holiday. I am a huge fan of timeless pieces that you can use over and over, and the SoHo collection is just that! 

Cindy is normally in charge of making the main meal since running after the kids during this time of day is hard! So thankful she loves cooking and does the majority of it! Me, my brother and sister in law and Alex are in charge of making all the sides and desserts every Sunday. This past Sunday we made Tri Tip, homemade bread and mac n’ cheese, smashed potatoes and for dessert we decorated cookies and cupcakes with cousins and grandma! 

Holding tight to the family relationships we have is one of our number one priorities in our family. It is so important to spend quality time with your loved ones and start new and keep old traditions alive! This holiday season as we continue to gather and host friends and loved ones, I’m so excited to share the tabelscapes and Mackenzie-Childs pieces I’ll be using!
