I got this sweater because the gorgeous color caught my eye right away, but it is also SO comfy!!! I have been living in this sweater for the past couple weeks and it goes great with jeans or leggings! I’ve been kinda obsessed with slouchy sweaters lately! They are just such an easy yet cute look for winter!
For months while I was pregnant, I was eyeing these cut out booties, and didn’t bite the bullet because my shoes size changed after my pregnancy- I went from a size 8 to a 9! I decided to get these anyways and I absolutely love them. They are actually really comfortable, and I’m able to be in them all day with no problem. I love that they can really go with anything- dresses, jeans or leggings! I definitely need to get these in some other colors now!
I got this tote during the Black Friday sale and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase- it is such a great bag!! I was looking for a large enough tote to fit my Tote Savvy insert and one that can also hold all my stuff for the baby and I. This bag hold ALL of my stuff perfectly and it isn’t a heavy bag which is a plus. I love the soft leather and the metallic gold lining on the inside. This one is defiantly a classic tote to have in your handbag collection! XOXO
Kennedy was 3 months old on December 21st, so I’m a little late in writing this. But I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss updating on what’s been going on with her in her 3rd month of life!
Kennedy Harper is currently 14 lbs 9 oz and 26″ long! She is already fitting into 6 month outfits (depends on the brand), and I’m still trying to get some use out of all the 0-3 month outfits and squeeze her in them haha! I notice this month she has been less fussy and crying less often than in the first and second months. Knock on wood though- things could change! I am breastfeeding her still and supplementing with some formula if I can tell she didn’t eat enough. She is a big eater and eats ALOT! She has been eating around 5-6 oz from a bottle every 2-3 hours. She has been drinking up to 8 ounces a couple times which is crazy, but mainly just 6 ounces. I still feed her a bottle of formula at night before bed (I love this brand), and it keeps her full throughout the night. She sleeps on average around 10-13 hours straight! Since we got back home to Texas from our Christmas vacation in California, she has been sleeping in her own room in her crib every night. I am also trying to get her to nap in her crib as well. I feel good now about having her sleep in her crib because we have the Owlet which would alert us if anything was happening, and the Nest camera! I leave the Nest camera on all night on my iPad next to my bed so I can always wake up if she is crying. But it’s so nice having her sleep in her own room now because we don’t have to tip toe around her and we can actually talk and do things before bed! haha
She has been holding her head up better and loves sitting in her Bumbo seat! She also will push up on her legs when I lift her up. She also held her own bottle for the first time a few nights ago and was drinking from it!! She loves to coo, babble and blow bubbles all the time. She also kicks and flaps her arms and has the funniest serious face when she does it! Alex and I always laugh so hard when she does it! She also LOVES bath time even more now that she is getting baths in the tub. I lay a towel down for padding and fill it up a little bit. She loves to splash and play with her toys in there. It gets her tired just in time for bed time!
She has also started laughing out loud and laughed SO hard when Alex makes funny faces and dances! Luckily, the first times she started laughing, I got it on video! I love when she laughs, and I try to get her to laugh all the time now. She also loves people and going out and about with mommy! She finds her new world so fascinating and it entertains her so much more now! XOXO
I love a great workout jacket, and I found this Lululemon one from Amazon.com! I love the dotted print and how incredibly comfy it is! All my friends rave about Lululemon, but it isn’t until I got this jacket for myself, that I am a forever fan of this brand. I wore it with these new Yummie leggings. These leggings have a high waistband and it hold your tummy in really tight. They are almost like compression pants, but can be worn everyday as leggings! They are also really comfortable and i feel confident wear tight shirts with them because it makes my tummy look flat! haha!
I can’t believe Christmas is already over and it’s now New Year’s Eve! This past month has been so crazy busy especially having a newborn now. Looking back on the past year, I feel like it has been the most exciting, busy, most memorable year to date. Last January I found out I was pregnant with our baby girl, I spent most of 2016 pregnant with her, and I gave birth to Kennedy this September! I know it sounds cliche, but becoming a mommy has been the most amazing and fulfilling thing that has ever happened to me. Nothing in the world makes me happier and brings me more satisfaction, than caring for her and being a mom. I have learned SOO much this past year about myself and what I am capable of. I’ve learned to become less selfish, work harder, and care for a baby. Having a baby has helped me try to become a better person every day. I am her whole world and she will look up to me, so it makes me want to be the best I can be and set a good example for her.
I have thought about some New Year’s Resolutions and decided I don’t want a huge long list of goals that I will never get to. Instead, I want to focus on three main things and have those be my main goals for the new year. First, I want to be a better and more relaxed mom! Better as in keeping striving to do my best everyday and give all my self and love to Kennedy! Even though I will fail and not be perfect at being a parent, striving to do our best and be better for our kids is all they need! I also want to start being more relaxed when it comes to being a parent as well. After having Kennedy, I got post pardum anxiety and worry about almost every little thing about her. I think it started after birth and the traumatic experience of that and her being in the NICU. Since I am constantly worrying about her health, safety, and development, it has hindered me from seeing the bigger picture. I’m just going to try to sit back, not worry and just try to relax!!!
Secondly, I want to get back into working out at least 4 days a week and eating really healthy! Before I left for our vacation in California, I was waking up at 6am everyday and doing 25-45 minute workouts! I have also been trying to eat healthy as well. Not only do I feel better after I work, I have been noticing results pretty quick which makes me happy! I have been doing the Beachbody workout T25, and every other day I will do Ab Ripper X. At first it was SOO hard for me to finish the whole thing, and I would have to take lots of breaks. But after a week or so, I was able to finish both of them with only a few small breaks! I notice my muscle definition is coming back, and my body is getting back into shape. I wasn’t able to workout for mostly all of my pregnancy, so getting back into working out was really difficult for me. I still have about 10 pounds left to lose, so getting back to my pre-baby weight this year would be great. I know though that it took me 9 months to put it on, so it will take about the same to be back to where I was before. My goal is to continue to workout and eat as healthy as I could! I always feel my best when I do both those things!!!
Thirdly, I want to make it a goal to be a better wife and friend! What is life without our family and friends to make it fun?! I heard someone in church once say to “out serve each other,” when referring to a husband and wife. So my goal is to do more things to help my husband and try to be more service oriented in my daily life. My husband helps me so much with the baby when he isn’t working, so I want to find ways to give back even more as well! I think that quote can apply to friends as well. Even just texting and reaching out to a friend you haven’t seen or spoken to in a while, or dropping off food to someone who is sick or know has no time to make dinner. Serving those around me like Christ would is my third goal of the New Year!
Thanks for following along my journey and blog, and being so great to me! I love each and everyone of you and love reading your comments and messages! Have a great New Year!!! XOXO
ps: I didn’t realize until after these photos were taken she had a blowout on her pink pants!! haha!! Oops!
I can’t believe Christmas is only 10 days away! I am so excited to experience this magical time with my family here in California and it is also my daughter Kennedy’s first Christmas! She will be three months old, so trying to find baby presents for her has been a bit of a challenge. I mean, my first thought was what do you get a tiny baby for Christmas?! But I went to the buybuy Baby store last weekend and was able to get all my Christmas shopping done for her! I love buybuy Baby because they have all the top baby brands and products I love! The store has everything you would need from strollers and car seats, to bath time products, toys, baby clothes, and even pregnancy and maternity products!
In my Gift Guide below, I picked out my favorite toys for ages 0-3, 3-6, and 6-12 months! Kennedy has all the toys in age 0-3 and I use them all the time during playtime. She especially loves the piano play mat and she LOVES kicking the piano and hearing the noise it makes! I also got her a couple toys that are for ages 3-6 months so she will have toys she can use in the coming months!
buybuy Baby is having FREE shipping on orders over $49 and if you order by December 19th, your package will arrive by December 24th. You can also easily browse and find what you want in the comfort of your home, and pick it up in store that same day! What I also love about shopping from buybuy BABY is their price matching guarantee! They will price match a toy you see that is lower cost somewhere else!
Hope you have a fun time shopping for your little one, and my guide will make things a little easier for you and Santa! 😉 Happy Holidays! XOXO
